the conductor stopped and told us to get off the bus,

we got out, we were sleepy, there were so many flies, the bus left and there we were. no idea where we were, no idea what to do. it was probably around 6 in the morning, everything was quiet and there wasnt much traffic on the road.

there was a little shop house that was just opening their doors, and i went in and asked for a redbull. i opened up a packet or two of wanwan biscuits and that was my breakfast. the family seemed nice and they didnt speak english, nor did we speak vietnamese but we exchanged smiles and nods as a form of greeting.

the good thing was that there was a sort of travel agency shop of sorts with the words “phong nha ke bang” so we knew we were not really lost. so thats where we sat, for a few hours waiting and hoping for the gates to open.
