this was where one of the most exciting things happened to us,
while on the way out, there was a group of people on the way in (the one with the headlights) and they have power generators, head lights, an inflatable canoe and some huge lights and we asked if they were exploring the cave and asked if we could join them!
they were the park rangers of phong nha ke bang, though most were just in plain clothings. they said OK and gave us a few head lights and we all got one except for ebrahim and we went to our boat to wear the life jackets.
we were just in slippers/barefoot and the surface was crazy dangerous. there were sharp edges everywhere and without any light you couldnt even see your hand. we walked in abit further where they set up the generator and the lights and left it there and the canoe was pumped there as to get to the other side you either swam or took the canoe.
we swam. hahaha! it was super cold and dark but it was one heck of an experience. honestly there was a few times where i thought i could die man. you had to climb over huge sharp rocks and beneath was nothing and you could just slip into the hole and just die.
the funny thing was, instead of them leading us in, they told us to go first, sort of making us the guinea pigs or sth which we just did. the whole thing was about an hour long or so? we stopped when we were in very deep and they wanted to call it a day.
the best part about this was that we were the first people to enter that deep into the cave. the cave was actually opened a week back and they planned to make it more accessible for tourists in the future and that was why the rangers were there.
man.. Thank God we made it out alive.
pictures of this epic cave adventure will be uploaded after this. so stay tuned!
