rafting for the chinese tourists,
we were not really tempted to raft here since the water looked rather tame, plus it would probably be super expensive.
it was really beautiful, just us and nature. but we had to go back. we were freezing and wet and really hungry.
after hours of walking through the cold rain and wind,
we managed to get on the other side. if you look closely at the first photo, you can almost see the small gap, the mouth of the river where we were from! and subhanAllah, it was really beautiful, there was no one except for us and it was nice seeing the little ferrys in the huge lake.
one funny thing that happened here was when i was taking photos on the metal pipes you see in the second photo. there were a couple of chinese tourist down there, and the funny thing was that as i smiled at them (out of friendliness) they wanted to take photos with me! HAHA it was so awkward and amusing at the same time.
they took turns taking photos and posing with me and went off. then there was this couple from the bank asking me to stay there and the wife went over to me to pose with me to take a photo! her husband was at the bank taking the photo!
maybe they havent seen someone brown like me.
as we walked down, you could see the opening or mouth of the river or something and it was beautiful. from the second photo, you can see some land and we actually walked all the way to the end (if you look closely, after the whole patch of trees, there’s a clear patch of land/rocks , sorry i dont know how to describe it, but yea we took about 4-5 hours to reach the end and there was no one walking there except us cos it was raining and the chinese tourist were not as adventurous as us) HAHA, but it was really cold and wet, and we just walked.
there was a few times where we wanted to stop and walk back, but everytime that came to mind, we told ourselves that we’ve already got so far, so might as well walk on. and we really did.
greeted by a girl,
she looked at us shyly, as we got into our rooms. i really didnt expect much from the room, but it was better than expected. it was just nice for the four of us, with an extra bed and it was clean, warm and comfortable. it was very simple and really just nice.
the girl looked a little bit russian or sorts, what with kanas bordering the russian border.
entering the village in kanas lake,
we were so happy to have been able to get a place to stay with the people living in kanas lake itself! i remember following him and just looking around, seeing mountains in the background, with houses made out of wood by the road, livestock roaming here and there, the cold wind blowing into your face..
it was really beautiful the village itself. we were only allowed to stay in the lake for a day, but since it was really beautiful, we decided to just stay on for a couple more days!
i dont remember what this place was called, but it’s a small piece of land in between the river.
